Imagine with me for a minute that our friend, Donald leaves his house 8 o’clock in the morning and walks to the bus stop. He joins a bus and watches every other person alight from the bus and sat still looking at the ruggedness of the bus and broken beauty of the uncompleted road. The conductor asks Donald where he is going and he says “Oga, I am going wherever you are going. I really do not have anywhere in mind.” If you were the conductor or the driver what would you think of Donald? Perhaps he should be taken to the nearest psychiatric home. There are over 7 billion people on earth and as sad as the story of Donald may be, it is the story of a large number of them. Most people are only getting by in life. They wake up every day to join the rat race to get a certificate, a job and then to marry and rear some children. If they are lucky, they get to make some cool money and acquire some material wealth. Thereafter, they die and are buried and that is the end of their lives. Do you remember the story of Solomon Grundy? Yeah. Dear young person reading this piece, can you attempt to answer the following questions:
- Who are you?
- Why are you here?
- What are you capable of doing?
If you cannot provide the answers to these questions, you are probably part of the majority of people who are trapped in the cycle of meaninglessness and my message to you is that: YOU DESERVE A BETTER LIFE! You were planned for more than just an ordinary life. Your potentials are limitless. You were planned to exercise dominion. You were planned to dream big and make an indelible impact with your lifetime. The creator planned you to be a symbol of eternal excellence but your choices today determine the fate of eternity in time. So the question is what choices are you making? Today, I invite you to make the choice to discover God’s purpose for your life first by cultivating a relationship with God and then by deliberately understanding and accepting your unique gifts, talents, personality and experiences. I invite you to make the choice to maximize your potentials in the pursuit of your dreams. Make the decision to live fully and die empty by making every day of your life count. There is so much to you than meet the eyes; your life is too precious to be headed nowhere. l pray today that you receive light to birth all that is buried in you and to be all you were created to be.
