Have you received Christ into your life as Lord and personal saviour? Congratulations. But the work does not stop there.
Now, the next step would be to begin a journey on becoming like Jesus in your words, thoughts and conduct. This is an ongoing life pursuit we are all supposed to be on.
The yardstick and standard is Jesus.
Until we begin to look like him, we cannot represent him fully. Until we begin to think like him, we cannot heal the sick or do exploits like him. Salvation is free because Christ paid with his blood.
However, transformation is not free. It will require your 100 percent participation and partnership with the spirit of God. The spirit of God bears fruit in us via our intimacy with God and yieldedness.
That fruit is what should attract people to Jesus through your life. When people come closer to you let them be stunned at your kind of nature and personality.
The fruit is the advertisement to the brand that is Jesus. The fruit of the spirit is the default nature of Jesus. This is why the kingdom’s measurement for spiritual growth is by your fruit.
No fruit grows overnight, but as you abide in him, the fruit begins to grow and mature. Are you becoming more patient, more loving, less angry, more peaceful with yourself and others?
It simply means you are growing!
The word tells us not to conform to the pattern of the world but be transformed by the renewal of our minds.
There are mindsets of the past and of the world that have to be erased if not they will corrupt your Christian experience. There are things we have allowed the environment around us to contaminate us with which may be unknown to us.
These things show up in our speech and thought pattern and attitude unconsciously, and without identifying and replacing them we could continue to struggle with defeats and frustrations in our Christian journeys.
Renewing of the mind is a course for every believer. There are softwares that our minds ran with for many years (which informed our choices and decisions) that need to be deleted.
We have been given the mind of Christ, which we have to grow into to fully flow in it.
Your associations and networks play a major role in your journey of transformation. Influence is like a flu that is very contagious, either good or bad.
A born again Christian can still be yoked to sin if his or her mind is still filled with the sin software despite the fact that Jesus died and set free from sin.
Deleting those software and then uploading a Christ compliant software is the key. You cannot grow if you still have both software conflicting with each other. Even after you have deleted them, many of the sinful software have hidden files that only the Holy Spirit can draw your attention to in order to delete them.
The Holy Spirit continues to help you purge viruses and delete corrupt files only with your cooperation!
The word of God is the tool of transformation. There cannot be transformation without the renewal of the mind.
The mind is such a complex thing. Software that has taken years to build in, cannot be destroyed overnight.
For example – software of insecurity and inadequacy.
With constant feeding on God’s word, such a stronghold can be broken.
As we grow in Him, it becomes evident with the fruits we bear.
Whatever your present level in your relationship with the Lord, you can always bear fruit.
Your fruit is directly related to your transformation!
