Lessons from the Christmas story

Lessons from the Christmas story

Every Mary needs a Joseph. I can’t even begin to imagine how Mary would have  been able to carry out this heavy assignment without the sensitivity and flexibility of Joseph. Joseph’s role in the whole Christmas story was very crucial. It was his call to provide direction and clarity for both Mary and baby Jesus.

If Joseph was an insecure man who had no identity or relationship with God he would have missed  out in the making of history. For every Mary out there that has been called by God, trust Him for your Joseph.

He(your Joseph)is as important as your assignment. And for those Mary who feel they have made mistakes in their choice of a spouse, don’t give up, continue to call forth the Joseph in your spouse.

Mary and Joseph were examples of people who coordinated themselves properly in their dating/courtship. If Mary had compromised her purity all because she was already engaged she would have lost her chance to  carry and birth baby Jesus.

The union between Joseph and Mary was very strategic, however, if they had not worked in obedience, they would have ruined it all. For every assignment, there is a level of consecration needed. Trust God and be willing to pay the price.

It might interest you to know that one of the major players of the Christmas story was the man named Joseph. Joseph hearing from God on little details was instrumental in the preservation of baby Jesus. His ability to pick little impulses and agitation in his spirit as divine prompting saved  the divine mission.

Don’t look down on your gifts. You may not be at the center stage or be the one with the kind of assignment that is readily obvious to everyone. But understand that your gifts are not inferior to others. Cultivate your gifts and confidently flow in them.Because these gifts will be needed soon enough to help others clarify and navigate their directions.

The quiet gift turns out to be the most valuable most of the time. Cherish what you have!

People go through attacks  even from a little age not because they have been bad but because of who they are. Jesus’ star was so obvious and this threatened a full fledged king on the throne. How can a big king like Herod be envious of a few days old baby, that he had to kill thousands of babies to medicate his fear.

You are attacked more in the area where you are graced. See it that way and rise to the occasion with the knowledge that you cannot fail.

Try that exam again,

attempt that idea again,

show up again,

Fight for it again

The threat is because of what you represent, don’t take it personal. God is on your side!

It is not enough to hear God on an issue, it is important we keep checking in to see if what God has told us is what God is now telling us. This played out so many times in the Christmas story in the bible; From the Magi who decided to take a different route to Joseph who practically fled with his family.

It is okay to change your mind as long as it is what God is telling you. It is okay to take another route. When instructions like that come check it out with the word, bring it out to trusted Godly counsel and take your move without apology.

Many things depend on such rapid instructions, you have no time to drag your feet especially when a word comes from God that could save you and your destiny from destruction.

Do what God is telling you to do and don’t get stuck on an old instruction.

The only time you stick with an old instruction is when there is no new update

So keep upgrading and monitoring your spiritual radar for update and take your move.

Remember, Man shall live by every word that PROCEEDS from the mouth of God.
