CONTENTMENT
Hello Greatness,
Contentment is not when you have everything you want but it is about being grateful and at peace in every life circumstance because of the revelation of His love for you.
The bible says:
Godliness + Contentment =Big gain.
It also means that
Godliness – Contentment=Big loss
There cannot be true contentment without obeying and living a life that pleases God. Contentment is a state of happiness and satisfaction, in other words is a state of fulfillment.
Without contentment life would be overwhelming. One will continue to run the rat races of life, which can be very exhausting and draining.
Knowing that you are in the center of God’s will for your life no matter how difficult the season of your life might be now helps birth that peace that connotes contentment.
Seeking after God’s will and living in it won’t make any difference if you do not add contentment to it. A lot of believers are still very dissatisfied with their lives despite the fact that they pray and do all the “godly routines”.
This is because they fail to enter into God’s rest by not trusting in Him totally. Being contented simply means to believe in God’s timing for the manifestation of His promises to you and taking steps of faith as He leads you.
It is important to note that complacency can set in when you don’t do your part of taking bold steps in the direction of His leadings. There is a big gain in waiting on Him.
There are many times in an attempt to get your heart desires met, we take on principles or steps that are opposite to God’s word.
We try to convince our minds we are doing the right thing. However, at the end of the day we still suffer big losses emotionally, maritally, and financially etc.
There is a joy you have when you know you are playing by His rules.
At what expense or cost are you trying to gain in life?
Leaving God out and following your personal convictions will never bring you contentment.
In conclusion,
Contentment is being happy where you are, on your way to where God is taking you to.
The world sees this gain (from Contentment) that you have and they desire it despite the fact that they seem to have everything.
There is nothing reassuring as waking up or going to bed knowing that you have a father who looks out for you and loves you.
Godliness means to know the heart of God for you and live your life in such a way to bring glory to Him. Stop chasing happiness but contend for real joy.
Real joy is pleasing the Father above your flesh.
