This is how you will know if you still struggle with an orphan mentality.

You are trying to impress God with works.
Many people are serving in church today from dawn to dusk not because they really love God than others but because they feel if they don’t serve like that they won’t get God’s love, provision or protection.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing you do for God that goes unrewarded. But the catch here is the motive.

Is your service to God motivated by fear?
Do you equate your service to God as intimacy with Him?

You cannot be intimate with God and not serve Him. However, you can serve Him and not know the God you serve.

This is the reason we get mad and bittered when someone who is not serving as hard as you get more recognized or rewarded.
This stings their deep sense of entitlement.

God loves you and nothing you do for Him will make Him love you more or less.
Settle this in your heart and be free to serve God regardless of whether He blesses you now or later.
