Fighting Temptations

Fighting Temptations

There is always a grand plot to mess up your destiny by the adversary of your soul.

It would be too easy  if you could detect the plan from the beginning, so it is carefully coated with desires in you that seem hard to resist.

Like a cheese dangled before a little mouse, you go for it and it leads straight into the trap.

You cannot be tempted by things that do not naturally appeal to you. If you are not a shoe lover, excessive purchase of shoes will not be a struggle.

However,  there are times when your tendencies are not even known to you except when they are revealed. This is why you don’t over estimate yourself because there are many things about yourself that you are still oblivious to.

It is safer to study your strengths and know your weaknesses.

It is easy to lose a battle you are not prepared for.

Wake up! You are at war and the goal of the enemy is to make sure you sabotage your destiny at all cost.

Eve is one example that comes to mind, she lost that battle the moment she began to entertain discussion with the serpent.

Watch your conversations! They either bring clarity or confusion.

You cannot  outsmart a cunning enemy you presumed to be a friend.

The snake was and is still a beautiful animal. God created it, but the devil possessed it to perpetuate his scheme.

We need to be aware that he still uses friends, things, and systems to engage us in dialogue of error.

Discern when a conversation is no longer edifying and run, cut off, block, delete or simply ignore.

There are some chats that are inappropriate, common sense will tell you if you allow them.

The bait is always pleasing to the eyes, that is why many fall for it.The bait is not even about today, it is about your tomorrow, to abort that dream, and plan God has for you.

Have a cohort of friends who can knock sense to you.Be around people you want to be like. Have mentors that can call you to order.

When temptation sets in, it is more difficult to break, so don’t initiate the process.

Say No! You have the right to say no. Don’t be a yes man or yes Lady. Practice saying NO to little temptations, then the power to resist bigger ones will be released.

Don’t negotiate with sin, don’t excuse it. Call it what it is and ask  God to help you.

Even If you have erred and you are deep into the bait, you can still get help. Don’t keep quiet, reach out to God and find somebody you can be accountable to.

Secrecy is the key to the bait, exposure breaks the trap so you can be free.
